COVSAR (Commonwealth of Virginia Search and Rescue) is an alliance of individuals and organizations working together to provide best in class search and rescue services to the State of Virginia. This alliance is a triad of entities made up of the Virginia Search and Rescue Council (VASARCO), Virginia Department of Emergency Management (VDEM) and the individual SAR Groups.
